2 Were Killed By a Sword-Wielding Man In a Swedish School

According to CNN, an unidentified man came into a Swedish school wielding a sharp weapon, and was not even seen as a danger, as he was taking pictures with students. Later, he brutally killed a teacher and a student and injured two other before being shot by police. He was taken to the hospital where he later died. This affects me because it is scary how nothing was done about this sooner. He managed to make it into a school wielding a weapon in plain sight and walk around freely. This affects the world, mainly Sweden, by hopefully making, not just Sweden schools, but all schools a lot safer.

Humans of New York

“I’ve been so lucky to have two wonderful men in my life. My first husband died when I was 55. For six months, I did nothing but work, come home, feed the cats, and go to sleep. It got to the point where I realized that I was either going to rejoin the living, or I was going to crawl in a hole and die. I mentioned to a friend that I was about ready to ‘get out there’ again, and she told me about a friend named Ted that she wanted me to meet. He was also a widower. I never thought I’d fall in love again. Certainly not that quickly. But Ted and I got along so well that two months later we were engaged. Ted has never felt threatened by my love for my first husband. On the ten-year anniversary of his death, Ted helped me organize a memorial. And that meant so much to me. But he doesn’t come to Mets’ games with me. He’s a Yankees fan.”

I chose this particular article because it made me happy that the woman has a husband that doesn’t care that she still loved her husband that passed away. This relates to me because my grandpa died before I was born, and “Poppy-Joe,” the person she married doesn’t care that she still loves her first husband, and he just wants to make her happy.

Computer Rentals

Due to a breach in the school’s computer system, all of the school’s computers will be shut down for three weeks, putting the journalists into scramble to get the yearbook to the company to be published. They desperately need the school board to approve the $500 expenditure to rent computers so that they can finish the yearbooks.

If the journalists fail to get the yearbook out in time, there will be no Yearbook Day, a day where all the seniors get together and sign each others yearbook. This has been a tradition for twenty-two years and nobody wants to break it.

“If the school board doesn’t approve the $500 expenditure, I am not sure what we will do,” Rodney Stevens, yearbook advisor, said.

If the yearbook staff fails to get the yearbook to the company, Yearbook Day will be canceled, making the seniors upset, and breaking the twenty-two year-long tradition.

“Yearbook Day is one of the highlights of senior year,” Reggie White, senior, said. “It would be weird not to get my friends to sign my book before I go off to college.”

Yearbook Day is strongly favored as the most important traditions at this small school.

“Yearbook Day is more popular than prom,” Reggie said.

Roughly 6,000 Inmates to be Released

In an effort to substantially reduce the over-crowding in prisons, roughly 6,000 federal inmates will be released this month. This affects me because if they are loose, what is preventing them from being the next Pedro Lopez? If they are released, this will just be giving them “another chance”. If they managed to get locked up in a federal prison, they more than likely have something deeply wrong with them. This affects the world because if even just one of the inmates goes on a killing spree just because of the fact that they got “another chance” and they had no reason not to, family or friends, why would they not just go off and kill anyone and everyone they see?

Donald Trump: “If I Tank, I’ll Drop Out.”

If Donald Trump begins to go downhill in his presidential campaign, he claims that he will “drop out” or forfeit. This shows that the possible 2016 presidential election winner has not even enough passion for the job to stay in the election. This affects me because if a possible presidential election winner doesn’t care enough about e responsibility to stay in the running, how will he have a successful term? This affects the world because if Trump does a bad job in his presidency, the world economy could fall. I found this article on CNN.com

Spring Hill ISD Students Arrested For Murder

Suspected for murder and aggravated robbery, 18 year old, Deiontray Darden, and 17 year old, Devante Darden, were taken into custody. Police say they are suspects in the murder of, Fedrick Jones, 35, Jones was found on Scenic Drive in Longview. This has a big impact, it being so close to me, and that I could have been in the place of Jones. It is scary how many people out there are sick enough to take human life. I understand if they are rapists or something. But innocent people? Come on now. This doesn’t have mu world affect because stuff like this happens all the time. It really is sad that so many people have literally no conscience that would say that they shouldn’t pull the trigger.
